UL and QUATEST3 Sign Alliance Agreement to Develop Furniture Testing and Emissions Laboratory in Vietnam

HO CHI MINH CITY, VIETNAM, October 18, 2016 — UL (Underwriters Laboratories), and QUATEST3 (Quality Assurance and Testing Center 3) today announced the signing of an Alliance Agreement to develop a furniture and chemical emissions testing laboratory in Vietnam. The goal of the agreement is to provide a world-class product testing facility and expertise in regulations that will enable Vietnamese furniture manufacturers to expand their business into global markets. “The Vietnamese furniture market is poised for tremendous global growth and QUATEST3 is an ideal partner for UL to develop a local laboratory,” said Alberto Uggetti, vice president and general manager, UL Environment. UL Offers Industry’s First Certification Program for BIFMA Performance Standards

UL is now offering the first and only program that certifies that a product meets BIFMA performance standards for furniture. Now, furniture manufacturers can achieve certification from a trusted third-party certifier that demonstrates products meet industry performance and durability requirements. UL’s Jasper, Indiana Lab Received A2LA Accreditation for ANSI/BHMA Services

UL’s Furniture testing facility in Jasper, IN, is now one of three test labs in the United States approved by Builders Hardware Manufacturers Association (BHMA), and one of two test labs that is A2LA accredited to perform BHMA testing.
